How to Do the Rihanna Makeup Look

Today, we are going to do a Rihanna make over. It is inspired from the Rihanna “Take a Bow” video. It’s a very classic and sophisticated make up look with very bold and bright red lips, but it’s also easy to do at home. So let’s get started.

How to Do the Rihanna Makeup LookNow the first thing we’re going start with is the concealer. And were going to start with the area just underneath the eyes, applying the concealer with a sponge and just cover up any dark circles.

Rihanna has a really flawless look in the video, so we’re going to use a fairly heavy concealer around the nose area just to cover up any imperfections.

Now we’re going to apply an all over foundation. Rihanna’s look is a bit lighter than her natural skin tone so we’re going to go just a shade lighter and use a sponge again. This will help us blend in our concealer as well.

Once you have your foundation on all over, I’d like to use a blendable powder instead of powder brush so we’re going to apply it all over the entire face. Set our foundation, blend downwards and get a little extra on the nose, chin, and under the eyes so we can put on our eye make-up nicely.

With a big blush brush, we’re going to just put a little bit of bronzer all over the entire face. In the process of doing this, we just knock off any of the loose powder.

Now right above the cheek bone, we’re going to put some glitter. We’re using a very fine glitter that’s just enough to highlight the cheekbones.

For our blush, we’re not going on to the apple of the cheek. We’re going to really define the cheek bone to get Rihanna’s look. And we’re going do it right on the check bone line. Dab the blush on and just blend it down a little bit and a little to the temple. This give us lots of definition.

We’re going to use three colors to achieve Rihanna’s eye look. We’re going to start with an oliver base on the eyelid with a sort of a golden yellow color. We’re going to bring the color all over the entire eyelid, right down to the corner; right to the lashes and just into the crease.

Right up by the brow, we’re going to use an even paler yellow. It really highlights that area and we’re going to take that color right up into the brow line.

Take your darker brown, still got a little bit of yellow gold color to it; we’re going to add some definition into the eye. We’re going to take it right into the crease and a little bit down into the eyelash line.

Rihanna’s eyebrows are somewhat understated in the video. We’re going to use an eye brow pencil that is slighty lighter than the natural eyebrow color. We’re just going do a light line and just extend it a little bit.

This is where the fun comes in, what you’re going to do for the eyeliner is pull up on your eye and you’re going to try and get it nice and close to the lash line. You’ll want kohl eyeliner that’s got a really good point on it.

Make sure your eyeliner’s nice and close to the lash line. Rihanna has the liner all the way around right othe corner and slightly extended beyond the lash line.

Now I’d like to take my eyeshadow brush and just give that line a little smudge. We’re not going for a smoky look but just blend it out just a little bit to smooth everything out.

For the bottom lid, we’re going take our black khol eyeliner and line the inside rim of the eye. And still with black kohl, we’re going just underneath lash line. Try and follow the lash line as closely as you can.

And then again with an eyeshadow brush, we’re going smudge that line. Just blend it all, make it nice and even. This brings everything together.

Now mascara, we’re going to use a nice dark black. I like to start in the corners because I’d like to give that the most coverage and push them right up. We can really get them almost looking like you have false eyelashes.

For the bottom lash, I’d like to use the tip of my mascara brush and just dab it on concentrating on the outside lashes.

For Rihanna’s beautiful lips, we’re going to start with a clear lips gloss. This is actually a plumping lip gloss and gives you a little bit of a tingle. This is going to help us put on our lipliner on smoothly.

Now for the lips, we’re going to start with a matching lipliner that’s going match our lipstick. We’re just going to define the natural shape of the lips and extend it a little bit.

Before we do our lipstick, we’re going to put on a matching gloss that going to help us put on our lipstick. You don’t need too much of it and just meet up with your eyeliner.

What’s going keep this all in place is our lipstick and that’s just going to make everything last longer. Again, we have matching lipstick. I like to dab it on, gets it on a little bit thicker and gives the lips a pouty look.

A nice little trick that I like to finish up your lips is to take your highlighting powder, the glitter that I used on top of the cheek, and apply it right in the center of the bottom lip. It really gives it definition and really gives it that pouty look. And you’re look is complete.

There you have it, we have a Rihanna make-over, inspired by the Take a Bow video. A really classic make up but very easy to do at home.
